This illness was made popular by Eminem with his rants about his mother's condition. So, we know it usually affects people, but would anyone share if they think a person can imagine ambiguous problems with their cell phone, laptop, or mp3 player, causing them to constantly need tech support and an audience to complain to regarding their problems with technology.
This results usually in getting something different and newer.
That is, are people complaining about their current, e.g., laptop so they can either cope with replacing what they currently own, or so that onlookers (family) give them sympathy for getting something new (the list could go on everyone probably has their own reasons).
Can anybody share if they have witnessed this type of behavior.
